Rhodes, Greece: A Photo Diary

Rhodes, Greece: A Photo Diary

The hubby and I popped to Greece in October – Rhodes specifically – to celebrate four years of marriage. Time has really flown by. We stayed at the Sunshine Rhodes Hotel, which was situated on the coast.

We spent most of our time relaxing in our hotel room, on the beach and in the sea, which was a beautiful shade of turquoise. I haven’t been outside of Europe yet, so it was the most incredible sea I have ever seen… so far.

On our last day, we had an evening flight back to London, so we made the most of the afternoon and ventured into the Old Town.

Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights of Rhodes

Rhodes is known for its history and one of the main attractions is the Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights of Rhodes – a medieval castle.

The palace was built in the 7th century and is now in ruins, as you can see from the image above. This was my favourite spot. I’m fascinated by architecture and it’s the arches standing strong that caught my attention.

Our exploration didn’t last long, and we eventually went on to do some shopping in the new town, where – to my delight – we found Sephora, H&M and Stradivarius.

As much as I loved the relaxation and the tranquility of being by the beach, I hoped that Rhodes would offer something more. I wanted fun and adventure. Maybe I just need to get better at planning holidays haha. I definitely want to go back to Greece to visit other picturesque places such as Santorini and Mykonos.

Have you been to Rhodes?
