Dairy-free Discoveries: Vegan Cornetto

I spoke too soon about not being to eat Cornetto. In my previous dairy-free discoveries post, I mentioned that Cornetto is my favourite brand of ice cream. I just love the hazelnuts and chocolate on top, the crispy wafer cone and the little surprise of chocolate at the end. It’s a delight from start to finish.

So, I never thought I’d see the day when they deliver vegan Cornetto.

I found it in my local Sainbury’s for Β£3 (so far, I’ve only seen them in the larger stores). Asda has unbranded equivalents, which I found while I was in Luton. They are so good! However, here in London, the closest Asda to me is a 20-minute drive or a 30-minute bus journey. That’s time, petrol and effort wasted when the closest shops in my area are just a 10-minute walk away.

These cornettos are made from soy milk. What’s strange is that if I drink soy in tea or coffee, it makes my throat close up. But I finished a whole box of these vegan cornettos (on the day that I found them, I NEEDED comfort food) and it did nothing at all, apart from give me a few spots because I should have NOT had four in one go πŸ˜…! Don’t judge me.

As much as I love my other dairy-free ice cream alternatives, I think that soy milk is the best substitute base to make vegan ice cream. It’s just as creamy and you cannot tell it’s dairy-free! I dare you to try this even if you’re not vegan/dairy-free, and I bet you won’t notice the difference.

I am on cloud nine, in dairy-free ice cream heaven with Cornetto’s vegan range. God bless you Cornetto. All I ask is that these are made available in a wider selection of stores πŸ™πŸΎ .

Disclaimer:

I do apologise because the majority of my dairy-free discovery posts are sweet treats, and some of you have #bodygoals. I do too lol, but let’s face it. The hardest thing to adjust to while being dairy-free is not being able to eat desserts… and cheese 😫. I’ll try harder to search for more savoury alternatives. In the meantime, enjoy your ice cream πŸ˜‰.

Ohhh these sound yummy! I would eat 4 of them too lol! There’s a vegan ice cream place here in Seattle that I think you would love. I can’t even tell the difference between their ice cream and regular ice cream!
