For Valentine’s Day this year, I went for a casual look. I didn’t want to overdo it with the red, so I kept it lighthearted with only tints of colour in my accessories.
I love the white shirt and denim look. I’d tried to pull it off before and bought this slim fit shirt in the hope of doing that – a while ago in fact. I ordered it in my size, but when it arrived the arms were too tight, so I sent it back and gave up on the look. I couldn’t be bothered to search for other options.
Fast forward to 2019, I’m scouring Pinterest for Valentine’s outfit ideas and I come across this picture I’d pinned.
Cute right? Simple chic 😍. I had similar heels, the jeans but not the shirt. So, I jumped on Asos and Boohoo and after ordering some shirts to try, I settled on the same one I’d ordered last year – only this time in a size up to avoid tight-arm syndrome. Why hadn’t I just done that before 🙄?
The shirt fit like a dream! And after finishing it off with my red tassel drop earrings, circle bag and pom pom heels, I was done. It worked! I’m sure I’ve mentioned before that I don’t always get my style right, so when I do it excites me 💃🏾.
These jeans are from Asos’ recent own brand collection, COLLUSION. I struggle to find good-fitting denim and you’ll know that if you read this post. These are one of the most comfortable pairs I own. They are stretchy, so snug without being tight and it’s not the kind of denim that scratches. I also own it in black.
I made my husband match me for the night by wearing his tailor-made shirt too 😉.
