It’s summer! The sun is blazing, my skin feels hot to the touch, and I can’t breathe in my bedroom. My fan is on full blast and the windows are open. It’s meant to be up to 32 degrees today; this week has been a scorcher, but I refuse to go outside. Even though June is my birthday month (yesterday in fact 😉 ) , my body does not operate well in extremes. I’m more of a spring/autumn lover.
The sun has me reminiscing about my holiday to Malta last October, and about a particular pair of sandals I wore then. Maybe, I’ll put them on today. 😌
I am a fan of embellishments. I’m like a child that is attracted to sparkly things (if you are wearing anything shiny, I will notice 😍 ). Although these sandals are not shiny, the exaggerated pearls and gold shells made my own eyes sparkle. When I saw them on Asos, I knew they would be the perfect accessory to jazz up a casual holiday outfit.
I ordered them before I went on holiday. Even though they were slightly tight and I was in two minds, I took them with me anyway. I shouldn’t have. Trying them on again in Malta, I couldn’t bear how rigid they were – the premium leather is sturdy – so I ordered them in wide fit (I returned the original pair when I got back home). The hotel receptionists were so helpful and let me know when my parcel arrived. Thankfully, the sandals fit like a dream. The sole is also thicker than your average sandal, so it is guaranteed to last longer and you don’t feel like you’re walking on the bare ground.
The tan, cream and gold is a gorgeous colour combination, and would complement a white summer dress or neutral outfit. Unfortunately these sandals are sold out, but below are links to some embellished alternatives.
These sandals are definitely my current favourite, and always make me feel like I’ve made just that little bit more effort. For me, they are the perfect summer sandals.
